Tips for Saving Money on Heating Bill

Save Money on Youthermostatr Heating Bill This Winter

It probably feels a little early to be thinking about your heating bill, but now is the time to prepare yourself so you can save some money this winter.

Tip #1: Have a programmable thermostat installed

These handy thermostats are inexpensive and easy to set. It is easy to leave the house and forget to turn the thermostat down. Having a programmable thermostat gaurantees that when you are not home, your heater won't be running all day and can come on when you normally return home. They are easy to set up and easy to change should you happen to be home on any given day. Having the heat running while nobody is home is expensive and this is a simple way to "set it and forget it."

Tip #2: Close vents in parts of the house that are unused

There are often areas of the house like laundry rooms or spare bedrooms that you may never or rarely use. Close the vents in those rooms so you are not heating parts of the house that you are rarely in, or if you go in, are not in for long.

Tip #3: Have your unit checked by a professional at least once a year

Of course we are a heat and air company in New Orleans so we value your business. But your system needs to be checked by a professional at least once per year to make sure it is operating properly and to receive guidance and suggestions from one of our professionals.
